JUPEBIM’s Aims
During the meeting, members were reminded of JUPEBIM’s core aim: to bring together Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) interpreters and equip them with professional, up-to-date knowledge of interpreting and translation in BIM, the language of the Malaysian Deaf community.
Members at the Heart of the Association
The meeting gave members a voice in shaping JUPEBIM’s direction. They took part in discussions on programmes, services and future projects, and they elected a new committee.
Many also responded to the invitation to volunteer. Through that, members showed their commitment to strengthening the interpreting profession and supporting the Deaf community in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
